1January 26th, 2014 - The inaugural Battle at the Border opened on Friday night at El PasoSpeedway Park (El Paso, Texas)with a $3,000-to-win event for the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Super Late Models.

Twenty-four entries took to the 3/8 mile oval, and a 2nd place finish in his heat race positioned Billy starting 6th on the grid for the 30 lap feature. Early in the feature Moyer Jr. advanced to as high as the 5th position before slipping off the track just past the halfway mark. He would go on to rebound to an 8th place finish.

Saturday night found round #2 of the miniseries being held with a $5,000 winner's check on the line. Twenty-six competitors took to the oval, and a 2nd place finish in his heat race sent Billy to the redraw for the 40 lap feature, where he was the recipient of the pole starting spot. As the main event went green Moyer Jr. out-gunned fellow front row starter, Ryan Gustin to turn one to snag the lead. Billy lead the first eleven laps before John Blankenship and Kent Robinson slipped past on lap 11 amidst heavy lapped traffic. Moyer Jr. would be unable to regain the lost spots as he finished a strong third behind race winner, Blankenship, and Robinson.

The weekend drew to a close on Sunday night with a final $5,000-to-win event at the facility. Billy qualified fastest in his group and went on to race to the win in his heat race to again move onto the redraw. For the second straight night Moyer Jr. received the pole for the feature with Terry Phillips starting outside front row. Phillips snagged the lead as the race went green, and Billy stalked the leader during the race's first half. Moyer Jr. pulled even with Phillips on lap 24 before the caution waved. As the race resumed Billy began to battle the handle on his entry as he ultimately slipped to a 6th place finish.

Fifty-six competitors registered for battle, and after qualifying 2nd fastest in his group Moyer Jr. won his heat race from the outside-front-row starting spot. Via his heat race win Billy locked into the redraw for the feature, where he was the recipient of the 3rd starting spot for the 40 lap finale. In the main event Billy enjoyed a great run as he advanced to as high as the 2nd position before settling into a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Jimmy Mars, and John Blankenship.

The miniseries drew to a close on Sunday evening with a $10,000-to-win event. Moyer Jr. struggled in time trials, which left him starting deep in his heat race grid. He would go on to fail to earn a starting spot in preliminary action as his outing came to an end.

1January 15th, 2014 - Billy Moyer Jr. had a great outing on Sunday night in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn Super Late Model as he raced to the $5,000 win in the second round of the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona).

Fifty-four Super Late Models entered the event, and Billy started his night by out-dueling his dad to win his heat race, which sent him to the redraw for the feature. In the redraw Moyer Jr. was the recipient of the pole starting spot for the 40 lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He was joined on the front row by Terry Phillips, and as the race went green Billy snagged the lead with Phillips in tow. He held the top spot until lap 4, when Phillips shot by for the lead exiting turn 2. Phillips held the lead until lap 11, when he slowed with issues which allowed Moyer Jr. to inherit the lead.

Billy went on to lead the remainder of the event to score the victory over Tony Toste, Jimmy Mars, Clay Daly, and R.C. Whitwell.

Wednesday night found a $3,000-to-win event being held for round #3. Unfortunately Billy battled the handle on his entry throughout the night before falling just short of qualifying for the feature.

Early in the heat he slipped as far back as the 4th spot before charging to the victory to earn a spot in the redraw for the 30 lap, $3,000-to-win feature.
