1October 11th, 2014 - Billy Moyer Jr. entered what was likely his final event of the 2014 season over the weekend, as the team traveled Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100. (Blake Hagan Photo)

The $20,000-to-win race drew a field of seventy-two entries to the state-of-the-art, 3/8 mile oval, and via time trials on Friday night Moyer Jr. locked into the pole position for his heat race. After a fierce battle, Billy narrowly held off a hard charging Jimmy Owens to win his heat race, locking him into fourth starting spot for Saturday's 100 lap finale.

When the main event went green on Saturday, Moyer Jr. bolted to the second position behind race leader, Scott Bloomquist. He trailed Bloomquist early on before the handle on his #21jr Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model began to fade. Billy settled to a respectable seventh place finish in the final rundown.
