After starting eighth in the fourth heat Billy passed a couple of cars, but one-lane conditions made passing difficult. January 13th, 2013 - Billy looked for redemption for Saturday's outing on Sunday afternoon at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) 1 in the second round of the inaugural Winter Extreme. Moyer Jr. began his outing by again drawing one of the largest numbers at the pill draw, which left him starting eighth in the sixth heat race. He would advance four spots in the heat race to finish fourth, which locked him into the seventeenth starting spot for the 40 lap, $5,000-to-win feature. Unfortunately rubbered-up track conditions greeted the competitors for the feature, and he would elect to retire just before the halfway mark to a twentieth place finish. January 12th, 2013 - Jr. Motorsports entered the opening round of the inaugural Winter Extreme at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) on Saturday afternoon. With forty-nine Super Late Models on hand for the event, Billy drew a large number at the pill draw, which left him starting on the back row of his heat race. He would advance a few spots in his heat, but would fail to earn enough passing points to lock into the feature. Billy went on to battle around mid-pack for the much of the event before retiring just past the halfway point to a sixteenth place finish. Full results are available at www.USARaceway.net.

January 5th, 2013 - Jr. Motorsports opened their 2013 season on Saturday night with the opening round of the 7th Annual Wild West Shootout at CentralArizona Raceway (Casa Grande, Arizona). The $3,000-to-win event drew a field of twenty-six competitors to the 1/3 mile oval. After drawing a large number at the pill draw Billy started ninth in the first heat, and would struggle to make up ground for much of the heat. However, on the final lap he mounted a charge on the high side to the fourth position, which locked him into the redraw for the feature.

In the redraw he received the second starting spot for the main event, alongside pole sitter, Pat Doar. After seeing the initial start nixed because of a melee, Billy shot to the lead on the second attempt to get the race underway. He would pace the first three laps before he began to battle an ill-handling car. He would ultimately fade to a ninth place finish at the checkered flag.
