Moyer Jr. treks to Port Royal for Rumble by the River

On Thursday afternoon Billy Moyer Jr. was one of 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on hand at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) for the three-day Rumble by the River. After sitting out a rain delay, Billy edged his way into the opening night feature with the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $10,000 on the line, Moyer Jr. dropped four spots in the 30-lapper to place 17th.

With continuous rain and an unfavorable forecast wiping out Friday night’s event, Moyer Jr. returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win A-Main. Recording a fourth place finish in both his heat and B-Main, Billy was granted a provisional into the finale. Starting in 24th, Moyer Jr. gained three spots in the 50-lap affair to register a 21st place outing.

Billy remains in ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
