Moyer Jr. scores runner-up finish in NAPA Know How 50
On Monday evening at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) in a field of 27 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for the Truck Country 50, Billy Moyer Jr. started the night off with a 10-lap heat race victory, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the main event. Returning to action on Friday afternoon, Moyer Jr. headed to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the NAPA Know How 50. Drawing 39 cars, Billy followed up the third fastest time in his qualifying group with a 10-lap heat race victory. After setting the pace for the first 21 circuits, Moyer Jr. dropped back to a second place spot where he would eventually finish, trailing Tyler Erb across the line with Jonathan Davenport, Shane Clanton, and Tyler Bruening rounding out the Top-5.
The following night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 28th annual Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Billy logged a sixth place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main. Coming in second behind Earl Pearson Jr., Moyer Jr. locked into the 19th-starting position for the $20,000-to-win A-Main. Improving two spots in the 100-lap affair, Billy Moyer Jr. recorded a 17th place outing.
On Sunday afternoon for the CMH Diamond Nationals, Moyer Jr. came in second fastest in his group behind Chris Ferguson before picking up a 10-lap heat race win. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Billy replaced a right-rear tire on the lap-29 intermission that was designated for helmet exchange that sent him to the tail. He charged up to a 11th place finish in the remaining distance.
Billy is currently ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
