BMJ debuts in Longhorn at Cedar Lake Speedway
Debuting in a brand new Longhorn Chassis Late Model, Billy Moyer Jr. trekked to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday afternoon as he was one of 13 FANS Fund invitees for the 34th annual USA Nationals weekend. Drawing 49 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Moyer Jr. suffered a broken brake line in time trials due to a rock that sent him slamming into the wall. He was sidelined for the remainder of the preliminary event. (Todd Boyd photo)
On Friday afternoon for a pair of heat races, Billy came in sixth in his first heat before placing seventh in the second round. He earned a spot into the $2,500-to-win Kyle Koch Memorial FANS Fund dash on Friday where he finished seventh in the 12-lapper.
Slated to start 11th in his B-Main on Saturday for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals, Moyer Jr. was a scratch from Saturday’s program to save equipment.
