Moyer Jr. records a trio of Top-10 finishes
Friday night found Billy Moyer Jr. in action at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) to pilot his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 21jr Late Model for the Big Daddy Classic. After topping the charts in time trials, Moyer Jr. streaked to a heat race win, which positioned him on the pole for the opening night feature. With $4,088 on the line, Billy took command of the lead early and looked to have his first win secured until a tire began losing pressure in the final five circuits. He went on to place second behind Devin Gilpin with Dustin Linville, Justin Rattliff, and Michael Chilton rounding out the Top-5. (Michael Hamilton photo)
The following night at Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.), Moyer Jr. secured his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. Reeling in a podium finish, Billy scored a third-place finish. He trailed Devin Gilpin and Justin Rattliff to the checkers with Tommy Bailey and Karl Tipton rounding out the Top-5.
For the weekend finale on Sunday at Bruschcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio) for the 4B4EVER 40, Billy topped the 20 car field in time trials before picking up a heat race win. After setting the pace first the first half of the race, Moyer Jr. lost the top spot to Tyler Erb amid lapped-traffic. He ended up second when the checkered flag flew, following Erb across the line. R.J. Conley, Steve Casebolt, and Rod Conley completed the Top-5 finishers.
