Billy Moyer Jr
Podium finish in Joe Garrison Memorial at Batesville
Billy Moyer Jr. returned to action on Friday afternoon at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) after a right-foot injury sidelined him for a month. Drawing 26 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series entries for the Joe Garrison Memorial, Moyer Jr. claimed fast time honors in time trials with a 14.694 second lap before picking him an eight-lap heat race victory. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Billy dropped one spot in the 30-lapper to register a third-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport and B.J. Robinson to the checkers with Kyle Beard and Morgan Bagley rounding out the Top-5. (Millie Tanner photo | Turn 3 Photography)
The following night for the Bad Boy 98, Billy locked his spot into the $12,000-to-win finale with an eight-lap heat win. Rolling off third, Moyer Jr. ran in the top-five for the first half of the race until contact with another competitor on lap 58 bent a tie-rod and popped his right-rear tire. He rebounded from the tail of the field to salvage an 11th-place finish.
